What is a Virtual Assistant?

How did I start my remote Virtual Assistant career?

​Having worked with C-suite level executives in the Hospitality Industry in the Middle East, I had a chance to get to learn a wide range of Administration, Project, and Office management work.

Once the pandemic hit us, I started searching and exploring ideas on "remote work", and I came across the new term "Virtual Assistant". With the administrative and people skills, I gained during working in the luxury hotel industry, I felt that I had a great base of knowledge to be able to successfully transition my career into a fully remote Executive or Virtual Assistant. My hunger to learn more made me enroll in several Virtual Assistant and Digital Marketing courses and I ended up spending hours and hours in my evenings to upskill myself.  I realized this was my future.

The best course that in the end gave me the opportunity to officially start working remotely on flex time as a Virtual Assistant was 90 DAY VA, created by Esther Inman.

Upon completing this course, I started managing Social Media platforms as an intern - meaning I worked for free in order to gain experience and feedback in return. When I felt confident enough, I start applying for "real online jobs" and then I finally landed my first client at the end of 2021. I quit my full-time EA job and I was booked out so quickly.
Right now I assist my clients all around the world with social media management, digital marketing, and some administrative client management work.

I still can't believe how in-demand this unknown career path was!
